You don’t need to apply for a visa before your trip to Turkey because sticker-type visas are issued (for a small fee) at the visa desk (located before passport control) as soon as you arrive. The sticker type visa is valid for up to 90 days for visitors (and business visitors) from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, the UK and US.
For Greek Cypriot Administrative Region, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovak Republic nationals the visa is valid for up to 30 days.
Once you have the visa stamped on your passport you can join the queue for passport control. (At the time of writing the cost for UK nationals is £10, and for EU members €10). Visit the Turkish Consulate for more information about visas and country entitlements. Before travelling, ensure you have a minimum of six months on your passport.
Nationals from Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands and Spain will need their national ID cards with a validity of one year.
Tourist visas (with validity of six months, one year, and multiple entry variations) are also available for British passport holders when they arrive in Turkey or from the consulate general in the UK.
